Abstract

Studies of the auditing function in major areas of the Department of Defense were conducted. The report is in two parts. Part I deals in general terms with the auditing function throughout the Department of Defense and contains the overall recommendations. Part II consists of the detailed reports of each of the subcommittees: the Office of Secretary of Defense and the Defense Supply Agency, the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Defense Contract Audit Agency, and Electronic Data Processing Auditing.
