Abstract

While the main thrust of the report concerns the decision-making process within the JCS, it is patently impossible to examine decision-making vacuo. Decisionmaking is inevitably a reflection of, and indeed a function of the organization and operations of the body in question. The author therefore extended the scope of the paper to include a broad view of the organization and major functions of the JCS, specifically focused on how they impinge on and indeed create the decision-making process.
