Modulation Spectroscopy of Disordered Solids.

Abstract

The report describes research on the study of the electronic structure of disordered solids by means of modulation spectroscopy. A modulation spectrometer was assembled and calibrated. Amorphous GeTe films were chosen to initiate the investigation. Some of the previous investigations of GeTe which are applicable to the experiments are discussed. Thermoreflectance spectra were recorded at 115K in the spectral range 0.69 eV to 1.55 eV. Initial electroreflectance studies on the GeTe samples have not indicated any electromodulation of the optical constants in the range 1.55 eV to 3.54 eV.
