Victims of Crime are in the Cities.

Abstract

The basic question is whether a person living in a large city is more likely to become a victim of crime than a person living elsewhere. Data were gathered using a literature search and making extensive use of the FBI's 'Uniform Crime Reports' and 'The President's Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice'. The growing population may in part account for the growing volume of crime but does not account for the growing rate. (Modifed author abstract)
