Graphic Axismmetric Shell Program (GRASP).

Abstract

GRASP represents the implementation of interactive graphic techniques to the SHELL MOMENT program. The SHELL MOMENT program, developed a decade ago, applies thin wall theory plus a discontinuity type of stress analysis to symmetrically loaded shells of revolution. The analysis produces the local bending moments and shears, displacements, and stresses at discontinuities in the shell (discontinuity of loading, contour, and/or material). Redesign of the shell may be accomplished at the CRT console. Technical Report 3762 describes the batch (pre-graphics) program. GRASP was written for a CDC 6500/1700/274 facility operating under SCOPE 3.3, IGS V.2 employing 9 overlays and 45K words of storage. (Author)
