Experimental Evaluation of Viscous Vortex Rate Sensor.

Abstract

The report presents a progress summary on the evaluation of a pneumatic viscous vortex rate sensor (VVRS). The objective was to investigate the flow field in a three-dimensional, axisymmetric device. The study is primarily experimental, utilizing hot-wire and hot-film anemometry techniques to measure velocity profiles and wall shear stress for both steady and non-steady flow conditions. Comparison of the experimental data will be made with a mathematical analysis developed by Harry Diamond Laboratories. (Modified author abstract)
