Handbook of Soviet Reinforced Plastics,

Abstract

This handbook presents designations, compositions, and properties of reinforced plastic materials available in the Soviet Union. Informa-tion is organized first by broad category (such as silicones, phenolics, etc.) and, then, by designation within each category. The designations are tabulated according to the order of the Latin alpha-bet. The appendix contains the standard transliteration system utilized for changing from the Cyrillic to the Latin alphabets. The Soviet standard or specification number for each reinforced plastic is included in the tabular data whenever available. A section on Soviet testing and evaluation procedures is included to provide greater significance to the property data, however, no major effort is made to describe the test methods and specifications exhaustively. The tabular data contains general applications of reinforced plastics. All of these applications have been taken from citations in open literature. The cutoff date for information herein is 1 July 1972. (Author, modified-PL)
