Flow Diagnostic Measurements in the Medium of a Continuous Wave HF Chemical Laser.

Abstract

Knowledge of the local flow dynamic properties in the flow field of a continuous diffusion type chemical laser is required because the index of refraction of the lasing medium is a function of the fluid dynamic properties. Satisfactory techniques for obtaining pressure, temperature, pitot pressure, and shock angle in a reacting fluorine-hydrogen flow are described. The application of the measurements to the definition of the flow properties is presented. (Author)
