Doping with Zirconium Sulfate.

Abstract

Zirconium sulfate doped sodium nitrate was investigated to lower the activation energy of sodium nitrate in illuminating flares to cause more rapid decomposition and reduce the hygroscopicity. From experimental data, zirconium sulfate doped sodium nitrate does neither of the above. However, zirconium sulfate does affect the caking properties of sodium nitrate and allows the processing of low-micron sized sodium nitrate. (Author)
