The New Military Mission, Peace Not War.

Abstract

The study explores the peaceful roles of the military, particularly in developing nations, or those with incipient insurgency. The probable environment is examined and the capabilities of the army, or military, as the nucleus of a government are examined. Methods of control and integration of the military into the overall stability effort are studied. The use of US Military Assistance Program equipment and the qualifications, education and methods of US advisors as catalysts in influencing the peaceful use of the foreign army is discussed.
