Color Scan-Converter System.

Abstract

The Color Scan Converter (CSC) is a high resolution (1000 lines) computer graphics processor using three storage tube scan converters as a means of display refresh and digital color generation. Use of a scan-converter memory for each of the three primary colors provides a CSC system with a capability for generating a full seven color, raster type graphic display. All graphic functions (vector and character generation) are performed by hardware and are controlled by a computer interface using a display data base. Scan-converting the x-y generated graphics image to a format suitable for television readout provides additional system utility in that high quality raster type graphics images can be transmitted great distances for viewing at remote monitor stations.
