A Nomogram for Computing the Eotvos Correction (Nomogramma dlya Vychisleniya Popravki Etvesha),
Abstract
In gravity measurements when a ship is in motion, it is necessary to introduce a correction for the effect of the ship's course and speed (the Eotvos correction). For quick computation a nomogram is proposed, by means of which, according to known values of course, speed and latitude, the Eotvos correction is at once determined correct to 1 mgal.
