Civil Aviation Midair Collisions Analysis January 1964-December 1971,

Abstract

The report analyzes all midair collisions which occurred within the 48 states over the eight year period, Jan. 64 - Dec. 71. It develops statistical, graphical, and narrative information which is used to assess the effectiveness of the ATC system in preventing midair collisions, to identify remaining several problem areas amenable to systematic solutions, and to compare these findings several proposed solutions for reducing collision risks.
