Heterogeneity of Research Interests and Effectiveness of University Departments.

Abstract

University departments are characterized by the heterogeneity of faculty research interests. The study examines the extent to which department performance and satisfaction are related to the heterogeneity of the faculty. American Council of Education rating, teaching effectiveness, and faculty satisfaction with five facets of the department are employed as criteria. (MODIFIED AUTHOR ABTRACT)
