A Study of the Reactions Forming Singlet Oxygen Metastables in Ozone Reactions with O, NO, and H.

Abstract

Gas phase reactions leading to the formation of singlet metastables in oxygen are being experimentally studied. A flowing afterglow system coupled with titration techniques, metallic surface recombination, and direct sampling and separation of the reactants and products according to their g-factors are used to further specify these reactions. Ground state species have been dominantly found in the H + O(3), NO + O(3) and O + O(3) reactions. (Author)
