Turbulent Transport in Compressible Flows.

Abstract

Statistical equations for a turbulent compressible gas are given with some comments: (a) for the correlation of the fluid density and two transportable quantities, in a generalized form, the complete definition where the non random parts of the turbulent quantities are kept free, and at a later stage in a form which is simpler where the non random parts of the extensive quantities are defined by the mean mass-weighted values; (b) for the mean turbulent fluxes of a transportable quantity; (c) for the Reynolds stresses, for the turbulent fluxes of vorticity, for the turbulent flow of internal energy, enthalpy and heat, for turbulent fluxes of entropy, for turbulent fluxes of components of a binary mixture; (d) for the correlation of the fluid entropy and vorticity.
