Statistical Techniques for Communication and Human Performance Evaluation.
Abstract
Progress during the grant period was made in the following areas of research: Estimation of parameters in multivariate extensions of the 'regression with both variables subject to error' problem, and tests of the goodness-of-fit of such models; statistical inference for various hierarchical designs in multivariate statistical analysis which are useful in validating psychological tests; construction of asymptotically optimal sequential Bayesian confidence intervals for the parameter(s) of a distribution; derivation of inequalities on the cumulative distribution function of the number of successes in independent (not necessarily identically distributed) Bernoulli trials.
