Preparation of Derivatives of Iminoborane.

Abstract

An investigation into synthesis and isolability of derivatives of iminoborane, HBNH, is reported. The pyrolytic method first described has been shown to be less effective than initially believed. A chemical synthesis from arylboron dichloride and primary amines is described. The state of characterization of compounds ArBNR where Ar=C6F5 and R=C6H4OCH3, C6H2(CH3)3, i-C3H7, and i-C4H9 is discussed. Additional experiments necessary for complete confidence in structural assignment are described. Some preliminary results concerning the free radical reactions of P2F4 are also described. (Author)
