Transmission Thermal Mapping (CH-47C Forward Rotor Transmission)

Abstract

The report presents the results of tests conducted to obtain the thermal maps of a CH-47C helicopter forward rotor transmission. The tests were conducted at several torque levels and to several controlled oil-out target temperatures. Thermal growth between selected points on the transmission case was measured and analyzed.
