Nonlinear Vibration of Moving Strips,

Abstract

A strong relationship between the rate of longitudinal motion and the frequency, vibration amplitude and boundary of the instability region is observed when designing tape transports, and when considering natural, forced and parametric vibrations. A feature of this problem is the presence of nonlinear kinematic damping, which considerably affects the behavior of the amplitude and frequency of the vibrations.
