Analysis and Urban Government: Experience of the New York-Rand Institute-II,

Abstract

The paper is a slightly expanded version of a talk describing the origins of The New York City-Rand Institute, some of its accomplishments, its style of operation, the political economy of policy analysis in New York City and some lessons learned. The talk was presented at a special session of the American Association for the Advancement of Science's 139th Annual Meeting held in Washington, D. C. 1972.
