Mechanical Behavior of an Ultrafine Grain Ferritic Steel.

Abstract

The mechanical properties of a ferritic steel with grain size ranging from 0.42 to 8 micrometers has been investigated. The material shows a marked increase in plastic instability. Decreasing the grain size is shown to decrease the temperature range for dynamic strain aging. (Author)
