A Note on the Effectiveness of Teacher Experience,

Abstract

Recent studies have found a significant relationship between student achievement and teacher experience, since schools with high achieving students appear to have a more experienced teaching staff. Also, if teachers move to schools attended by superior test takers, they seldom return to a poorer school. The report makes a study of such mobility in an attempt to discriminate between two possible reasons for the experience vs. reading scores relationship of students.
