The Configuration and Loading of a Torisonally Elastic Faired Cable.

Abstract

A mathematical model for the equilibrium configuration and tension for a flexible, faired cable with torsional elasticity in a uniform stream is presented. The differential equations are derived and a numerical integrating program for solving the initial value problem thus posed is given in the BASIC computer language. A sample problem is solved and discussed. (Author)
