Operational Test and Evaluation of R. C. Allen Three-Inch Attitude Indicator.

Abstract

The Research and Development Division of the USAF Instrument Flight Center conducted a test and evaluation of the R. C. Allen 3-inch self-contained attitude indicator, model 26C-1. Approximately 50 hours were flown, using a T-37 as the test bed to evaluate the indicator. Primary emphasis of the evaluation was from a human factors aspect rather than an engineering performance.
