Simulation of High-Resolution Radar Displays of City Complexes,

Abstract

The modeling and simulation techniques capable of generating large-scale high-resolution radar displays of cultural features are investigated. Specific features include power transmission towers, buildings, railroads, bridges, storage tanks, streets, rivers, and natural terrain. In addition, the general background-type of return is also discussed. The problem of real-time simulation is assessed. The techniques have been applied to simulate radar images of a 2.25 x 2.25 mile area of North Long Beach, California, to a resolution of 20 feet. (Author)
