Users' Evaluation of Machine Translation, Georgetown MT System, 1963-1973.

Abstract

MANCE OF THE Georgetown MT System at the AEC Oak Ridge National Laboratory (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and EURATOM Common Research Center (Ispra, Italy) during the period 1963 through 1973. Part I contains information pertaining to production volume, suppliers/users of machine translation services, production cost, computer environment, and improvements since 1963 to date. Part II describes the methodology supplied in collection and analysis of utility assessments. Part III consisting in analysis of individual assessments, contains a wide range of uniformly favorable responses elicited by questionnaire and personal interview from American users of AEC machine translation services in the U.S.A. and users of EURATOM machine translation services in Italy, Belgium, Germany, and Holland.
