On the Substantiation of One Method for Determining the Figure of the Earth (Do Obhruntuvannya Odnoho Metodu Viznachennya Fihury Zemli),
Abstract
A closed formula is suggested for determining the earth's figure by means of the gravity anomalies and their derivatives without an assumption of the analytical continuation of the outer gravitational field. The derivatives of the gravity anomalies are computed by the anamolous vertical gravity gradients and the inclination angles of the earth's topographic surface. In the demonstration of the closed formula spherical functions were used. It is considered insufficiently substantiated. A demonstration of the formula without spherical functions is presented, and also a verification of this formula for one partial case is performed on the corresponding model.
