Development of a Terrain Prediction Model for West Germany.

Abstract

The report describes in detail the efforts conducted to develop a terrain prediction model for examining vehicle mobility in West Germany. The analyses conducted to develop the model and the results obtained when applying the model to areas of West Germany with known terrain characteristics are discussed in detail. Conclusions are presented about the quality and representativeness of the US Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station terrain data, the efficacy of the developed model and recommendations as to future efforts in terrain analysis.
