Investigation of Explosion of Portable Liquid Oxygen/Liquid Nitrogen Generating Plant.

Abstract

An investigation was made to determine the possible cause of an explosion in the portable air separation plant operated by the Compressed Gas School, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Virginia. Plant intake air and filtration bed residues were analyzed. A hydrocarbon oil residue was found in the silica gel filtration bed. (Author)
