Optical Absorption of TNT Single Cyrstals

Abstract

A method for growing large area, thin, single crystal platelets of TNT is reported. The optical absorption properties of these crystals were studied, and dichroic behavior was observed. The absorption edge is approximately 3.1 eV and is tentatively assigned by comparison were solution spectra.
