A Device for Determining the Aerodynamic Components (Forces and Moments) of Axisymmetric Bodies in a Flow of Rarefied Gas,

Abstract

The invention pertains to devices for determining the aerodynamic components of axisymmetric bodies in a flow of rarefied gas, particularly devices using a pendulum fiber suspension of the investigated model. The disadvantage of such devices is that before determining the aerodynamic characteristics of the basic model it is necessary to test for its torsion element. The purpose of the invention is to determine the aerodynamic characteristics using a means of eliminating the torsion element.
