On the Calculation of Dome-Transducer Interactions for a Nonlinear Parametric Sonar

Abstract

The study was undertaken in order to extend previously developed computational methods for conventional dome-transducer interactions to the nonlinear parametric case. A simple model involving planar geometry was analyzed in detail in order to gain insight into the sensitivity of parametric generation efficiency to variations in such parameters as steering angle, dome- transducer spacing, and dome thickness. A prescription is given for calculating the interaction for realistic geometries.
