Heads Up Display System Using Nonparaxial Holographic Lenses.

Abstract

A study was made of optical systems employing holographically produced lens elements. The basic third-order aberration terms are defined for nonparaxial configurations of holographic lenses and three techniques of aberration balancing are suggested. One technique eliminates chromatic aberration from white light scenes with two lens elements and is incorporated into a heads up display system so that its capabilities may be studied. (Author)
