Effect of Constraints on Management of an Economic Order Quantity Type Stock Fund.

Abstract

Working within the limits of the Systems Support Division of the Air Force Stock Fund and the application of a management model to the non-recoverable items managed by that division, the objectives of the paper are fourfold: First, to describe the current operation of the DO62 Economic Order Quantity Buy Computation System; Second, to describe, qualitatively, how Item Managers are limited on the purchase of non-recoverable items by AFLC policies, available funds and the DO62 system; Third, to describe how the system is being affected by the limitations and restrictions imposed on the Item Managers; Fourth, to analyze the effects of constraints on the AO22 system for managing non-recoverable assets under the Advanced Logistics System (ALS).
