A Computer-Based Blood Donor Information System for the Wright-Patterson AFB Regional Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.

Abstract

Current records on the local blood donor population are required by blood donor management to provide information concerning blood inventories, donor call-up, and historical data on blood donor sources. The information system most often used in the military utilizes various manually completed forms often filed in different locations. Unfortunately, when the number of blood donors is significantly large, this manual system is often cumbersome when attempting to update, integrate, and/or retrieve information on a timely basis. The study provides a computer-based management information system to alleviate these problems. (Author)
