An Evaluation of the Initial Level of Preparation of Army Logistics Officers.

Abstract

The objective of the research study was to compare the level of preparation that logistics officers had received at the time of their initial assignments to key logistics positions to the level assumed necessary to successfully perform the duties required of these positions. If the officers were not well prepared, changes to the current career development program would be required. A second objective of the study was to compare the level of preparation of Army logistics officers with the level of preparation of the Air Force Director of Logistics, as reported in the Calta thesis. If the comparison showed the Army logistics officer was better prepared, an inference could be drawn that the current structured Army career development program was more effective.
