Chemical Reactions Induced by Ultraviolet and Ionizing Radiation.

Abstract

The work during the Grant period was directed toward the study of catalysis of nonradiative decay processes in the electronically excited states of organic molecules. There were two complementary approaches: (1) study of quenching of fluorescence, and (2) study of bichromophoric compounds which contain an aromatic nucleus and another group of a type normally involved in bimolecular quenching. Results are briefly discussed. (Modified author abstract)
