Table of Earth Satellites, Volume 2, Part 4: 1972.
Abstract
All known artificial satellites launched between 1 January 1972 and 31 December 1972 are listed chronologically. Lifetimes, weights, dimensions and orbital details are given for instrumented satellites and their final-stage rockets. Minor fragments are listed without these details. The methods used in compiling the table are described. The report incorporates a large number of improvements made since the monthly issues of the table during 1972. There is also an index; a list of further amendments to Volume 1 (RAE Technical Report 70020); and a list of amendments to Volume 2, Parts 1, 2 and 3 (RAE Technical Report 72127). (Author)
