Report on the Conference on Transparent Aircraft Enclosures Held in Las Vegas 5-8 February 1973,

Abstract

A report on papers given at this conference covering all aspects of transparencies for fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Considerable emphasis is laid on materials aspects particularly on polycarbonate and conditions required for satisfactory machining and use thereof. Interlayer materials constitute a problem area because of poor elevated temperature performance. With respect to design aspects, resistance to damage on bird impact remains as perhaps the most demanding design factor. (Author-PL)
