Design and Fabrication of a Composite Sandwich Shell for Operation at 3000 Feed Depth.

Abstract

A program is conducted in which a 20.875 inch diameter x 100 inch long composite sandwich shell is designed and fabricated to demonstrate the feasibility of applying composite materials to deep submergence structures. The sandwich shell is constructed with 'S'-glass/epoxy laminate skins and an aluminum honeycomb core. (Author, modified-PL)
