The Measurement of Enthalpies of Gaseous Mixtures by Flow Mixtures by Flow Calorimetry.

Abstract

An attempt to develop calorimetric data to supplement low pressure PVT data on the enthalpies of pure and mixed gases is described. Bases for selection of a boiling type calorimeter are discussed and the design and operation of such a unit are described. Data analysis techniques are presented along with details of methods for compensation of heat leaks and other errors inherent in calorimetry. While the experiment was unsuccessful, it does reveal precautions needed in large scale, wide pressure range calorimetry and it does suggest that the method can be successful with application of the techniques learned.
