A Simple Nuclear Radiation Hardened, Regulated, DC-to-DC Converter,

Abstract

A unique design for a regulated converter is presented and explained. This dc-to-dc converter is resistant to nuclear degradation, has very few parts, and uses shunt base drive regulation. It evidences fewer instability problems when unradiated than other hardened circuits of its type. Circuit operation, design rationale, a specific design, and nuclear test data are discussed.
