The Arab Rufugees Problem: An Annotated and Selected Bibliography.

Abstract

The following factors were considered in the bibliography: (1) Background as to why the Arabs left Palestine during the 1947-48 conflict; (2) resettlement and compensation versus repatriation; (3) political, economic, and social considerations indigenous to the problem; (4) proposed solutions; (5) disputes regarding the true numbers of Arab refugees and the associated problem of rectifying the rolls of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA); (6) effects of the June 1967 war on the problem; and (7) UN involvement. Fifty-three documents are included in the annotated section of the bibliography. The bibliography also includes an unannotated appendix listing 147 pertinent publications, and an appendix identifying UN General Assembly resolutions regarding the Palestine refugees.
