Effect of Variations of the Terrain Digitizing Interval of the AMC 71 Mobility Model.

Abstract

The report investigates the effect on mobility prediction of the variation on the size of the digital grid used to represent the map features constituting the terrain for the AMC 71 Mobility Model. The effect on path segments and overall minimum time path of .1-, .2- and .5-inch grids on a 1:12500 map are compared. The analysis indicated that individual travel times and paths selected on a .2- and .5-inch grids are significantly different from 0.1-inch grids. (Author)
