Measurement of Acoustic Transmission through B. F. Goodrich AN/SQQ-14 Sonar Rubber Domes.
Abstract
Acoustic tests on the three B. F. Goodrich rubber domes for the AN/SQQ-14 Sonar. The first dome was installed and tested aboard USS FEARLESS (MSO 442). A test report, Applied Research Laboratories Technical Report no. 72-32 (ARL-TR-73-32), was submitted as the final report and the contract was terminated. The second and third domes were received and acoustic tests were performed under terms of Naval Ship Systems Command Contract N00024-73-C-1135. The document shows data collected on all three domes. The results appear satisfactory. It is concluded that stronger plastic domes be considered for system improvement. (Modified author abstract)
