Semi-Markov Analysis of a Communications System.

Abstract

A communications system composed of n transmitters and r receivers and which is subject to failure is modeled as a semi-Markov process having four states. Transient and steady state results are analyzed to determine the probability that the system is in any given state. Two examples are given to illustrate the results in the transient as well as in the steady state. (Author)
