Unsteady Radial Transonic Flow with Shock Waves.

Abstract

An exact analytical solution has been found for viscous, unsteady, radial source flow near the speed of sound. Shock waves with structure appear naturally as a part of the solution. The solution describes radially accelerating or decelerating shock transitions between the supersonic and subsonic branch of the inviscid solution. Accelerating shocks are found to be weaker than decelerating shocks. (Author)
