A Selenium Ylides: Preparation and Structural Features.

Abstract

A selenium ylide (C6H5)2 SeC (COCH3)2 was prepared and its structural parameters were determined by X-ray analysis. The C-Se = C bond angles are 107.5 degrees and 105.0 degrees. The nmr spectra shows rotation about the Se = C axis with a barrier of < 8 Kcal/mole. (Author)
