High Acceleration Cockpit - The Maneuvering Countermeasure,

Abstract

The high acceleration cockpit represents an innovative approach to cockpit design which provides a unique blend of pilot capabilities and airplane performance potential, especially for the counter air mission. By altering the standard cockpit geometry, positive airplane control and tactical decisions are enabled during levels of maneuvering acceleration well above 7G. The result, in the context of emerging fighter capability, is a dramatic increase in combat effectiveness and operational advantage. (Author)
